Sony Expands Crystal LED Lineup with Mid-Market S Series

Sony Electronics introduced the Crystal LED S Series, a new line of direct-view LED displays targeting mid-market applications, aiming for high visibility and cost-efficiency.

Sony Launches Crystal LED S Series for Mid-Market Segment Sony Electronics announced the introduction of its Crystal LED S Series, a new line of direct-view LED (dvLED) displays, in January 2026. This expansion of Sony's dvLED offerings is specifically designed to cater to the mid-market segment, focusing on delivering high visibility in brightly lit environments. The S Series aims to provide a balance of performance and cost-effectiveness for corporate, educational, and commercial facilities. Rich Ventura, vice president of Professional Display Solutions at Sony Electronics, stated that the S Series furthers Sony's commitment to offering advanced technology with high image quality and exceptional visibility, while bridging the gap between their BRAVIA professional displays and existing dvLED products. Key Features of the Crystal LED S Series The Crystal LED S Series comprises two models: the ZRD-S12G and ZRD-S15G. Both models boast a maximum brightness of 800 cd/m² and feature pixel pitches of 1.25 mm and 1.56 mm, respectively. These displays incorporate Sony's Anti-Reflection Surface Technology, similar to that found in the BH Series, to enhance image expression and color accuracy even in ambient light conditions. The modular, bezel-free design allows for scalable video wall configurations of various sizes. Additionally, the S Series features a thinner cabinet design, approximately 45mm in depth, representing a 35% reduction compared to previous models, which streamlines installation. The displays are also engineered for long-term use with surface protection to prevent accidental contact and simplify maintenance. Market Positioning and Availability Sony positions the Crystal LED S Series as a scalable, high-quality solution that balances performance with cost-efficiency, addressing common customer requests for varying budgets and options. The displays are intended for diverse applications including corporate environments, educational institutions, and commercial facilities. The Crystal LED S Series was showcased at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in Barcelona from February 3-6, 2026, and is scheduled for release in late spring 2026. This launch complements Sony's announcement of 16 improved BRAVIA Professional Displays in the BZ-P Series, also intended for release in 2026.
