Sony Unveils Crystal LED S Series for Mid-Market Segment Sony Electronics Inc. announced the launch of its Crystal LED S Series direct-view LED (dvLED) displays in January 2026 . This new series is designed to cater to the mid-market by offering a balance of high performance and cost-efficiency, making advanced dvLED technology more accessible for corporate environments, educational institutions, and commercial facilities. The S Series aims to provide enhanced brightness, natural color accuracy, and low reflection, ensuring high visibility even in brightly lit spaces. Balancing Performance and Affordability The Crystal LED S Series addresses a growing demand for sophisticated visual solutions that do not require the premium investment typically associated with high-end LED installations. Rich Ventura, Vice President of Professional Display Solutions at Sony Electronics, stated, "The S Series furthers Sony's longstanding commitment to offering advanced technology with high image quality, exceptional visibility, flexible integration capabilities, and long-term reliability – all of which provide our customers with inspiring visual experiences that offer value, while enabling creativity.". The series includes two models: the ZRD-S12G with a 1.25 mm pixel pitch and the ZRD-S15G with a 1.56 mm pixel pitch, both delivering a maximum brightness of 800 cd/m². Design and Integration Features The new displays feature a modular, bezel-free design that allows for scalable video walls of various sizes and configurations. The cabinets are notably slim, measuring approximately 45mm (1.8 inches) in depth, which simplifies installation and helps meet accessibility compliance standards. For enhanced integration, the Crystal LED S Series offers seamless compatibility with NovaStar's flagship COEX series controllers, the MX30 and MX40 Pro. This integration allows for extended cable distances of up to 100 meters between the LED wall and the controller, further increasing installation flexibility. Market Introduction and Availability Sony Electronics previewed the Crystal LED S Series at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in Barcelona from February 3-6, 2026. The displays are scheduled for release in late spring 2026. This launch signifies Sony's strategic expansion of its display lineup to meet a broader range of customer needs and budgets, bridging the gap between its professional BRAVIA displays and its existing dvLED product lines.
