Daktronics has secured a significant contract to install more than 15,000 square feet of LED displays across Los Angeles International Airport's Tom Bradley International Terminal.

The announcement was made on April 8, 2026. This extensive project will see the installation of over 30 individual displays, collectively forming seven distinct LED media wall types, spanning more than 15,000 square feet of digital canvas. The displays are scheduled to be installed throughout 2026, with the full integration and passenger experience expected to be completed by 2027. The upgrade aims to modernize the terminal's passenger experience by providing enhanced flight information and creating a more engaging atmosphere. Hans Thilenius, Deputy Executive Director of Terminal Development and Improvement Program at Los Angeles World Airports, stated, "This modernization is designed to deliver a world-class travel experience that redefines what it means to move through an airport." The project is part of LAWA's broader $30 billion infrastructure modernization program for the airport. This initiative underscores the growing importance of large-scale digital displays in high-traffic public spaces. The installation will feature a variety of display types and sizes, catering to different functional needs within the terminal. Notable among these is an 8,119-square-foot upper island advertisement display, alongside ribbon displays at gates totaling 5,076 square feet and a 4,279-square-foot ticker counter back wall display. Pixel spacing will vary from 1.5 millimeters to 2.5 millimeters, depending on the specific location and viewing distance, ensuring optimal clarity and visual impact. These displays will be integrated into the TBIT's existing architecture and control room infrastructure. Daktronics, headquartered in Brookings, South Dakota, is a recognized manufacturer of LED video displays, scoreboards, and digital billboards. The company's expertise in deploying large-scale digital signage solutions for transportation hubs is further solidified by this significant contract.
