Schottenstein Center Undergoes Major LED Display Overhaul Ohio State University's Schottenstein Center is set to complete a substantial upgrade to its video display system by September 2026. The modernization project involves the installation of over 7,200 square feet of new LED technology, significantly enhancing the visual experience for attendees at the Columbus, Ohio venue. Enhancing Fan Experience with Advanced Visuals This comprehensive upgrade, manufactured and installed by Daktronics, aims to elevate the fan experience through sharper visuals and more dynamic content delivery. The new system will feature a massive center-hung video board with four 3.7 mm LED faces, complemented by two underbelly displays, four corner displays, and a continuous 360-degree ribbon display. This installation will bring the total pixel count to nearly 64 million, representing a substantial increase in display area and resolution for the arena. Significant Increase in Display Surface Area The newly installed LED displays will expand the total display surface area by 234%, offering a more immersive and engaging environment for spectators. This investment in advanced video technology is intended to improve visibility and content presentation for a wide range of events hosted at the Schottenstein Center, including Ohio State's men's and women's basketball games and men's ice hockey matches. The project's completion is timed to be ready for the start of the 2026-27 athletic seasons. Daktronics Leads Manufacturing and Installation Daktronics, a recognized leader in digital display solutions, is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of the new LED system.
